Easy hummus recipe! What is hummus and how to make it?
Hummus is a flavorful Middle Eastern dip made with cooked, mashed chickpeas combined with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic.
Olive oil, a few whole chickpeas, parsley, and paprika are common Middle Eastern garnishes.
It’s commonly served as a dip with pita bread in Middle Eastern cuisine.

Let’s make hummus!
Ingredients (2-3 servings)
- 800 gr canned chickpeas
- 100 gr tahini
- 2 garlic cloves
- Juice of 2 lemons
- 100 ml water
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
- 4-5 olive oil
Preparation
- Wash the chickpeas, place them in boiling water and cook for 4-5 minutes.
- Place the chickpeas in a blender and add garlic cloves, tahini, lemon juice, 100 ml water, salt, cumin.
- Puree for 4-5 minutes.
- Transfer the dip to a serving plate, drizzle with oil and serve with your favourite bread.
