Cole is a Baltimore native who grew up in the city. Her parents are Rastafarians from Jamaica, and her mother, Ichelle Cole, is a member of the reggae band Strykers’ Possel. Her father spent the first 20 years of her life in prison for his involvement in a narcotics operation before being deported to Jamaica. Cole went vegan in 2014 after being a vegetarian in 2007.
Cole graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a bachelor’s degree. She is a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority and was named “Miss Clark Atlanta” in 2008.
The Pinky Cole Foundation
Aisha “Pinky” Cole is not only a restaurateur and CEO of slutty vegan locations but also a “Food Politician”.
The atmosphere at Cole’s restaurants is rowdy and “Six Flags-ish,” but she also emphasizes philanthropy.
Her Pinky Cole Foundation has established scholarship monies for students at Clark Atlanta University, her HBCU alma school.
She’s given away everything from laptops to haircuts to fresh food to the people in her neighborhood.
She also contributed a car and life insurance coverage to Rayshard Brooks’ family after he was fatally shot by an APD officer in June, as well as covering his children’s college tuition expenses.

Cole explained how her mother has influenced her charity, how her neighborhood has influenced her activism, and how she hopes to encourage others to vote:
“My mother is from Jamaica. She came to this country when she was 17. Once she got here, she met my dad and—long story short—he ended up doing 22 years in prison. She was always working two or three jobs and letting people from Jamaica come stay in our house until they got on their feet. So there were always six to 10 people living with us. If somebody needed money, she would give them money. We sacrificed presents on holidays so that she could help other people.
At the time, I didn’t understand it. But I appreciate it now because I am just like that. I will help anybody. And that’s pretty much the reason why I started the Pinky Cole Foundation.
The goal of my foundation is to provide opportunities and financial literacy resources to people to help bridge the generational wealth gap. I’ve paid the rents of local business owners in the middle of the pandemic. I partnered with the Department of Juvenile Justice to employ ex-juvenile offenders at Slutty Vegan. I’m partnering with a local halfway house so we can give them work opportunities as well.
It feels good to be able to help my young Black brothers because I know how it feels to be a part of the system. No, I wasn’t behind bars, but I was on the other side of that. To get that automated voice saying, “You have a collect call from…” Me hearing those calls—I should probably go to therapy because of it. As a young kid, I was not able to physically touch my father unless I went through a whole bunch of security guards. We would sit and talk for an hour before the buzzer went off. Having been a part of that system, I don’t wish that on my worst enemy…`”
Slutty Vegan Locations
The chain has four locations in the Metro Atlanta area, as well as a plant-based bar called Bar Vegan, as of January 2022.
Restaurants are planned for Athens and Columbus, Georgia, Birmingham, Alabama, and Brooklyn and Harlem, New York City.
In 2022, there are also plans to create a new site in a different city once a month.
The restaurant has a mobile food truck that does pop-ups around the South.
Several celebrities, including Viola Davis, Shaquille O’Neal, and Queen Latifah, as well as politicians like Cory Booker and Keisha Lance Bottoms, have praised the eatery.
The “Menage a Trois,” the “Sloppy Toppy,” and the “One Night Stand” are just a few of the provocative names for the restaurant’s burgers.
Returning customers are referred to as “sluts,” while newcomers are referred to as “virgins.”
Being “sluttified” refers to the act of trying a burger for the first time at Slutty Vegan.
