Is cocoa butter vegan?
Cocoa butter has nothing to do with butter made from cow’s milk. In fact, cocoa butter is nothing more than the fat from the cocoa bean. But as we have seen in many of the articles we have written about here, you have to look very closely at the ingredients of a product to know if it is vegan. However, cocoa butter is vegan and can be used just like animal butter. In addition, it is also used for natural cosmetics and very delicious chocolates.
How is cocoa butter made?
Various pressing processes are used to remove the fat from the cocoa beans. This is how cocoa butter is produced. Cocoa butter is relatively solid at room temperature but can be melted and processed like normal butter.
Are cocoa butter and shea butter the same?
Shea butter and cocoa butter both come from plants and are excellent moisturizers for dry skin. On coming into contact with your skin, they both melt as well. The difference between shea butter and cocoa butter is that shea butter comes from the nuts of shea trees while cocoa butter comes from cocoa beans.
Shea butter and cocoa butter are both unprocessed extracts from the fruit of their respective plants but in distinct ways.
